Hey!

It's taken a while to write again because I have been busy catching up at school after Nationals.

I'd like to begin by saying that I was extremely happy that I made Nationals this year.  It felt great to be on the ice barely injured.  There's always something but this time I could be there.  For three weeks before competition I had chronic tendonitis in my left foot.  I was not training properly for those three weeks which showed in my results.  The positive is that two years ago, I was 11th and this year I made top 10!

The experience was unforgettable and I will always remember Ottawa's Nationals; the year of the 2006 Olympics.  The energy was so great, especially in the men's event.  I had a blast being there with my friends from across the country.

Until next time,

Hey,

The Olympics are coming to an end but the figure skating portion was so exciting this year.  Joannie had a great free program which was great to see, especially at the Olympics.

I took a month off of training after nationals to relax and heal my tendonitis in my foot.  I am now back at the rink 6 days a week getting back into shape for the new season.  I can't wait to start training again.  After taking time off, a new energy comes back to my skating.

School has been difficult as it should be during the last year of high school.  I can't wait to graduate; I have been waiting for this year for a long time now.  It will feel so fulfilling to have finished high school and to start a new chapter in my life.

Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I wrote my last entry.  I have had to overlook different aspects in my future with school and skating.  I have officially finished high school and am moving on to university in the fall.  I can't wait for the new experiences it will bring.

Summer skating is tremendously difficult but is a great way to get back into shape for the upcoming season.  We start at 12 and finish around 6pm from Monday to Friday.  There is barely any time to get outside to see the sun.  For the most part, I try to catch up on the tanning during the weekend.  My skating is slowly progressing after all the time I took off this year after Nationals.  I haven't got new programs at the moment but am thinking about changing the long program.

I also wanted to mention that a dear friend and coach, Mr. Colson, who I have known my whole skating career just passed away on July 14.  He will be missed by all of his skaters and friends at the Granite club.  He always had a way to turn a frown upside down.  As a farewell, a number of skaters at the Granite came together to share great moments we have had with Mr. Colson over the years that will remain in our hearts forever.

Until next time, keep enjoying the hot summer!
